Too many external links?

From time to time people hit on me that even though i am a sysadmin i always google on stuff before doing it myself (same goes for blog, i do add external links whenever possible instead of stealing their content and pasting in my blog). Well the reason i do so is to:

• Make sure that i don’t miss some step
• Make sure that i am aware of any issues/bugs that i might come up against
• Make sure that i have atleast couple of resources in my hands if something goes terribly wrong
• Make sure that i am justified in choosing the software
